Can anyone help me switch this off.

As soon as I connect to the car bluetooth my keyboard is disabled.

How do I turn this off? I'm not even driving half the time but it still affects me as a passenger.

Do not text and drive, period. Not even half the time, not ever. Use the mic or the bluetooth in the car. It is too bad that it also affects you as a passenger as there is no problem with the passenger texting, but I don't see how a programmer can set iOS to sense whether or not a user is in the drivers seat or not. Some vehicles have sensors in the seats for various reasons, but not all.

It sounds like the car is reporting itself as a keyboard, and therefore the phone assumes that you'll use that external keyboard instead of the on-screen one. I vaguely recall seeing an option to pick the device type; is there anything in the Bluetooth settings for "don't use this device as a keyboard"?

With that said, if your thread title is accurate then as Tom G. said, the correct answer is "don't"!

It's for when im passenger. It's not good enough that I can't use my phone just because it's connected to carBluetooth .
