Cant use SIRI or Dictation over Bluetooth in Car (VW Golf)

Hi guys,

i've had this issue for over a year now and back since 9.2 oder 9.3

Apple seems to still not have fixed this, can anyone confirm or see a workaround?

Basically:
- I am connected via Bluetooth in my Car an my iPhone 7 (tried on several other devices too, fails on all)
- I can stream music and i can make calls without problems
- When initiating dication or invoking siri the phone wont register anything i talk into the handsfree-set
- I have to turn off BT or swith to iPhone instead of handsfree to use SIRI or Dictation.
- I have tried restores, several phones and different versions. Of course i have paired or re-paired several times.

Seems to be only related to VW/Seat/Skoda models since it works fine in Mercedes/Audi.

I rented a Skoda here (I live in Kaiserslautern) and had the same issue. It seems that something has changed and that the automakers have yet to catch up. Have you tried to contact VW and see if they have firmware update that can be applied to your radio to resolve this? Since I don't own the car I was in, I just dealt with it and moved on.

Same issue with Ford SYNC 4.6 here. I had assumed it was a change in the latest SYNC update.

Siri Eyes Free works on our newer Ford SYNC versions though, but sounds like it's something in iOS that has changed.

I have contacted VW several times and the statement was that this is the current state of the implementation and that if its faulty, i should contact apple ... :--(

I have a 2017 Jetta and Siri works fine I don't do dictation so can't say about that

I wonder if the system in Europe is different than in the US. Because I have never had a problem. Its a little slow, but it works. I got my GTI on iOS 8, no problems with 8, 9 and now 10.

Our Dodge Grand Caravan does not work with Siri. If you try to use Siri the phone comes through the BT connection and calls my voicemail. Have to disable BT to use.
