I am still having this waking up issue with my mba 13... when it sleeps for more than 1/2 - 1 hour... it doesn't seem to wake up...

it normally wakes up asking my password on top of the screen...

but sometimes it reboots.. today something weird happened..the welcome screen came up asking my password...

I entered it and I seen the blue desktop screen, than back to the password box..

I entered my password 3-4 times.. it did the same thing..

I pressed and hold the power button.. turned it off then back on...

again my outlook file under windows xp in parallels is corrupt...

it started pissing me off...

anybody have same/similar problem ? any solutions or workarounds?

When I open my MBA from clamshell (I'm using an external monitor), pressing Command and F2 wakes up the screen. Just a thought.

im having a slightly different issue.

After closing the laptop in the evening it wont start in the morning. In stead of going to sleep it just shuts down. When i press the power button, i hear the chime but wont in fact see the logo or anything. After a while it jumps right to the desktop.

Anyone experienced anything like this?

try resetting the PRAM, repairing the disk permissions, resetting the SMC.

if these options do not remedy your situation, bite the bullet and …

backup, erase your flash storage (Macintosh HD) reinstall Mac OSX (only what you need, not the additional stuff) then add in your apps and data, preferences, etc.

your Airs are not behaving normally.

Could be a faulty SSD

My MacBook Air didn't want to wake from deep sleep either and it was caused by a faulty SSD. An Apple hardware test showed there was a hardware error and Apple replaced the MBA with a new one. Worth checking.

Rob, did you ever fix your problem? My 11" Air does exactly the same thing, well I think it's exactly the same thing. It goes into deep sleep. I open the lid and see nothing. I press the power button and notice that in fact the computer is on but there is NO backlight at all. You can see this by shining a bright light on the screen. Backlight buttons don't do anything. My only option is to press the power button and then Return to cause a shutdown. I then turn the computer back on and see nothing until the desktop appears. The backlight is then on but at the lowest level. I can turn it up, everything OK.
