I have a first gen iPhone, and when I recently synced with iTunes it shows a 2.7gb memory usage on the "other" orange color. It is usually at 250mb. How can I find out what this is and remove it?

This is because there has been an error during a sync, turning all the data on the iPhone into "Other". The only way to fix it is to Restore the iPhone (you CAN use the backup), as you cannot access the "other" portion directly on the iPhone.
