So I've read the above are still being forced down our throats in beta. What does it take to add an extra toggle wherever in the settings? A shareholder meeting? How about a hardware fix for anyone suffering from ADD - a vibrating caps lock key with a fanfare sound and a blinking light when you press it.

The input source one is also beyond stupid - I have set shortcuts via Fn key to change between them, so why do I need the stupid thing popping up on my screen randomly, when I can also see the source selection at the top right on my screen? Mind boggles.

I've upgraded to an M4 machine from one running on High Sierra, and this pisses me off so much, I keep going back to my old one for anything which involves substantial text editing.

It's distracting, and not critical in any sense, and spare me any lecture about how Apple has better things to do, because by this measure alone, it clearly hasn't.

I beg anyone fiddling with beta to report to HQ in ALL CAPS that these eyesores need to be made OPTIONAL.

Only people for whom this is an issue should file feedback reports. Trying to get everyone using the beta to file reports would just clutter the system and potentially obscure more pressing bugs and issues that should be addressed first.

well, that's exactly what I'm asking for, and as far as I'm concerned, this forced feature, which actually obscures text as you type, is the very definition of 'clutter'.

but what do I know, maybe fiddling with icon design is truly a 'more pressing issue' than giving users basic controls over what affects their actual work experience.

Do the Terminal commands from earlier versions still work?

The feedback that I submitted when this nonsense first came long (two, three years ago?) is still sitting in the ether.

I jumped to Sequoia from High Sierra, but this seems to have been wheeled out with Sonoma, so your feedback is still being appreciated.

re: terminal commands, I have read in these very pages that they can mess up something else, so unless it's official, I'm not brave enough to fiddle.

theres another irritating one, for input source options, but if it also plays a fanfare sound in Tahoe, I'll let it pass.

You can use OnyX or Deeper

[un]Related - No Caps Delay

oh yeah, presumably Apple came up with this forced eyesore because there was no third party app to enable it, and I can run a search myself, thanks for nothing.
