Hello all-

I am strongly considering an Apple TV for Netflix streaming and to take advantage of my DVD collection I've ripped to iTunes over the past few years. I'm also an avid NBA fan and love watching basketball when I can (go OKC Thunder!).

Being able to stream NBA League Pass would be a huge plus for me. Since I am deaf, I must have captioning. For the life of me I cannot figure out if NBA League Pass has captioning support on the Apple TV. I've searched high and low for a while and no luck.

Is there anyone who uses Apple TV for NBA League Pass? Are the games captioned? How is the quality? I am starting to think it would be better off to just get a cable subscription and get League Pass that way.

I have the NBA league pass, the quality is great, it's like watching regular tv and I'm watching it on a 50" plasma. Unfortunately, there's no closed captions for the games.

Because the regular season is almost over, you can sign up for the remainder of the season for $24 and try it out and see if you like it.

Don't forget to take into consideration the local and national market blackouts. Hope this help

Thank you for your reply! I tried streaming a few NBA games from the web and it was not bad without the captions.

One more question- are the television series captioned? I don't want to pay for cable just to watch Dr. Who or DIY. Would be nice to stream from AppleTV.

The lack of available captions keeps me from trying Netflix. If you browse the catalog, I have yet to find anything that is closed captioned. Netflix seems to be way way behind on captions. I'm sure a lawsuit is on the way under ADA rules.

There is a lawsuit already by NAD. I am more curious about the TV series on AppleTV and if they have captioning.
