Car Jack Streets, one of the greatest games to ever hit the app store has just been released!!!! At least in some countries that is. So far it is out in Australia, the UK, and Europe. We're still waiting in the US :( but it is promised to be here by Tuesday. Have fun all and please review.

BTW if you got a promo code it will be in your inbox right now and you can use it immediately :)

It's out everywhere now. The reviews are popping up. I'm a bit iffy about it. Many reviewers are too. Apparently the controls are awkward, the car physics are laughable, and there is no map at all.

I might wait until these things are fixed.

I doubt any promo codes are going to be coming for an anticipated title like this. The game looks cool, but for $5 I'm not willing to take the leap quite yet. I wish there was a lite version even if it only had a few minutes of gameplay. I have heard mixed reviews on the controls and that is what's keeping me from purchasing this.

Ok here are my thoughts about it:

About 100 times better than Payback which looks so bad compared to this. The game at first is a bit tricky to learn how to play but after less than an hour I can control the cars/person very easily. There is an update that is being submitted this week or early next week which is adding a map as well as the tank and helicopter and a few other things. The game is just pure enjoyment. For sure the best use of $5 I have spent on any apps and I have over 9 pages. Anyone leaning on the fence get OFFFFF!!! It's totally worth it lol. From what I've heard on other places there is most likely going to be a lite version that allows you to do only one special mission and will be out in a month or two but really don't wait that long.

For anyone having trouble:
1. Only a certain number of missions can be completed in one day before they stop appearing so don't freak out lol
2. If you leave your one finger on the right and left arrows while driving it makes it much easier to use.

Oh and I'm not giving promos away or anything, if you wanted one you should have competed in the contest and if you did but didn't win sorry but we could only take so many...

Hope you like it and if you do please review it in iTunes.

Enjoy

So, you made this app... and are trying to review it and think people will view your review objectively?

I bought it, and I am greatly disappointed. Payback is 100 times better, it has better controls, better missions, and better level design. This game has the worst controls I have seen, and barely tapping the turn buttons in a car flips it over! Plus when you get hit by a cop car you are basically trapped because they cram you into a wall. The levels are bad because there aren't many ways to get places, there's always a brick wall. And no maps... And the missions are all the same! Go here, kill some people. Deliver crap. Payback is way better just because it has controls that work and a decent framerate and camera.

Anyway.... these games are crap compared to Chinatown Wars, which I already have 20 hours on. I can't imagine playing CJS for that long.

This is when cracked apps really come in handy. This game is not close to being as good as payback. Don't try to lie to sell your subpar app. Thankfully I didn't have to waste $5 on this huge disappointment of a game.

Hahaahaah guys this isn't my game. This was created by a guy named Paul who was responsible for helping make the original GTA along with TAG so don't try and flame me for writing a review. I wish I was responsible for making this game because it's pure awesomeness pretty much kills all others in comparison.

Comparing this to Payback is like trying to compare a Ferrari to a Ford Fusion. There isn't any competition. This game is much more visually appealing. There are active switches from day to night depending on what time it is where you are. There is plenty of replay value and the dev is constantly on the forums at TA where he helps and shares info with the rest of us as to what is coming up in updates that are only a week or two away.

Also to the tool who uses cracked apps you should try and grow a pair and start buying games. Devs need money for their work and the only way they get it is through us. For instance I bought Payback and deleted it after 5 mins. I may have wasted my money but at least the dev got something outta it. I really hope you design something one day just so a ton of people can steal it from you.

Just so you all know only about 1/3rd of the people who own this game actually payed for it. 2/3rds pirated it.

The way the app store is set up someone can create a terrible app (like this game) and people only find out how bad it is after they wasted their money. You should feel proud you paid the devs of payback just like I did and in return you received a great game. I wouldn't buy a car without test driving it and I'm not going to buy an app without testing it. If I try it and i like it then I buy it. I just bought $100 in itunes credit for apps i want and to have some money to buy the new 3.0 apps. 2/3rds pirated it because the 1/3rd that wasted their money told them what a joke the game is.

LOL! Exactly! Very skeezy.

Anyway, I just watched some videos of CJS. Man, those car physics are an absolute JOKE! It's friggin' bumper car city. The game SHOULD be called Bumper Car Streets.

Even the original DOS GTA 1 had WAY, WAY better physics? Why couldn't they do at least as well 10-15 years later with a MUCH more powerful device?

Seriously. The terrible physics are a dealbreaker, not to mention poorly implemented controls, lack of a map, etc.

Pass!

You may not have developed it, but you're involved with the developers. Please don't "review" games that you're involved with in some way. It's very shady and decreases consumer confidence in products.

Are you serious? I've never met Paul or any of the guys who made this. Like I'm not sure how I can convince you but dont get mad at me for reviewing a game. I don't get money from them or even a free game, I bought it like everyother person, well at least the honest ones.

And I'm not praising it, it's just good. Of course the guy who can get it for free is gonna blast it but compared to a majority of the games on the app store this is pretty legit. Of course all games have problems like the bumping cars but the devs are aware and are working to change some things.

No wonder I don't come to this site much anymore

So your florbastang from TA? Well then you shouldn't be blasting me here because you saw the dev post in the threads about the game on TA.

Good try though

Hahaaha this guys funny. Seriously though you cant try and compare buying a 20,000 dollar car to a 5 dollar app. Go ahead and try justifying pirating any way you want but your still stealing.

Also there is no comparison between this and Payback. Looking at the graphics on that game just kills your eyes. Everythings so boxy and rigid that it ruins the game

The same principle applies people want to try before they buy regardless of the purchase. I'm not justifying anything. I try an app if its good I buy it. If it sucks I delete it and forget about it. The apps I like I want to buy them because I want the updates right away. Who cares if it's only $5. I'm not going to miss five bucks but I'm also not going to spend it on a worthless game when there are plenty of great apps that are more worthy of my money.

Also you swear that you aren't involved in anyway with this app or the devs. Yet you talk about a promo code contest and when people could use their codes and begging people to review the app. People who are just consumers buying the app don't ask people to review it in itunes devs do that because they are the ones that need the reviews to be high so more people will buy it consumers don't care what the rating is if they enjoy the app. In this whole thread you're the only one who thinks this game is any good everyone else thinks its garbage.

Ya i set up a promo code contest for them but that doesn't make me the dev. They got all the emails and did the work. And we should be reviewing all the games we actually purchase so I figured it wouldn't hurt to throw it in here because I think it's such a great game.

If you don't like it sorry, not everyone likes the same things but this one really fits me. I like games that look amazing and have a nice flow with plenty of replay value from active devs that let us know what they are doing next for the game. The updates they want to do will make this great game even better.

Lastly probably less than half of you here actually have purchased the game but you can look here to read about a thousand posts of people who like it: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=10499&page=95

Oh and you can go call them all devs because I'm sure they all are too

They asked for help from about 8 people with setting up a promo contest and they are all guys from TA so no not really. Just a random group of strangers that helped them out
