Is car parked notification supposed to be showing in locked screen? Or in the widget because I never see this except in the Apple map with car icon? I'm curious why it's not showing in notifications? I already have notifications turned on for the map.

It showed in the widget in the first beta but not after that. The options for the widgets are destinations, transit and nearby. It really doesn't fit in those categories so I assume that's why Apple removed it.

It appears in the notifications most of the time. But you have to be connected to your car via Bluetooth or Carplay for it to work.

Yeah I have Bluetooth in my car and the feature works because I can see my car in the map just not in notifications.

You have to install the maps destination widget and you will see the car parked feature...

I don't know why but I was thinking about some sort of widget option in maps app itself, not widgets. I never see my car in the lock screen. And I've had the destination widget setup for ages. I'll have to check purposefully more often see if it ever shows. Maybe you have to get a certain distance from it before it shows?

Would you have to leave the phones Bluetooth after leaving your vehicle?
Do you have to mark your home and or work address somewhere so it wont use this parking places?

No to both questions. But it will show that you are parked at home or work.

The parked car feature was still not working after the first DP and even with the 'over the air' GM update. Did a clean install of iOS 10 and the parked car feature started working again. I mentioned that in case others are having the same problem. It is worth a shot.

Where do you get the widget - on the notification screen I press the edit button but don't see the car location widget. I see car on maps but not noficiation
thanks

If im not mistaken, its the Maps Destination widget.

I can't seem to get this little widget to work. I think you have to actually use the maps navigation, while being connected to the vehicle either via bluetooth or carplay and then once you arrive, it'll remember your parked location.

Its the only thing i haven't actually tried but it is what i've taken by some of the articles I've found online.

Today i drove to work, connected to bluetooth. Parked but the location was never saved or remembered. I didn't use navigation for this ride. Also i do have my home and work address saved under my contact so not sure if this would interfere with the parked car location.

It should save whether you use navigation or not. Maps may need to be open in the background. The parked car shows in the destination widget, but only if you press "Show More".

Do you need to have frequent locations turned on? I can't get this to work - the notifications from reminders work when set to get in/leave car work fine, just not the maps

Don't think the frequent locations needs to be on for this. I do have it off in my phone though so i wouldn't discard the possibility. We'll figure it out, with enough input from everyone's experiences.

That's the deal my destination widget is completely blank, lol.

I just can't get this feature to work at all, get no notifications, nothing on widgets and maps doesn't show location either - works when i use the reminders app, so is detecting leaving the car ok

i got it working by resetting my phone's bluetooth connection with my car (Subaru) -- i removed the Subaru from the iPhone bluetooth menu and deleted the phone from my car's head unit.

i then re-paired them. it then worked with both "frequent locations" and "location based alerts" on.

i turned both off and it stopped working. i haven't tried combos of these off...i have long kept these off out of battery consumption and privacy concerns, so will have to investigate which of these (if not both) need to be on and whether i am content with the battery consumption being minimal and also whether or not i can get over my privacy phobia...

(iPhone 6 and Subaru with Clarion based head unit)

I never connected mine to Bluetooth and it randomly guesses when I "park". When I actually do park somewhere in the city, I just edit my parked location.
