Car Play straight up does not work anymore now with the UsB-C cable. It charges but no Apple CarPlay on my car whereas it worked perfectly fine with the lightning cable on my 14 pro. What’s going on?

I use a carplay dongle to avoid having to plug the phone into the car whenever I get in. They connect via bluetooth.

I will find out monday if it still works but I will assume it does. The dongle is why I can go caseless. I will be using sleeves to keep it from getting scratched or in a bag.

I have a BMW Active Tourer that can mostly be controlled using the assistant from BMW. Since i connected my iPhone 15 pro max the system has refused to speak to me. I restarted the software in the car and now my car refuses to acknowledge my iPhone although i can see it - car play isn’t working. I dis- and reconnected my phone so that i could navigate with car play, however the car software ignored my phone so although i got directions i could not see them in the head up display for example. I am using the in car charger no cable. This is a disaster….. didn’t expect this when i bought the „top“ iPhone. Apple support told me basically to f**k off as they didn’t consider it to be their problem. BMW hasn’t replied yet. Can only hope that some kind of software update will fix this.

After Updating to 17.1 ALL my cables and Adaptors work, even cheap USB A to USB C wires from Amazon work seamlessly.
