iPod Car Stereo CD Changer Jack???

I just purchased a JVC car receiver with an aux input on it to play my Apple iPod. But to my surprise, the sound quality is not too good. I have to move the iPod around to get a fuller clear sound. Would a iPod adapter attachment improve the sound quality? I read it had to be attached to the CD changer jack. What is the CD changer jack? Is this easy to do?

Are you running a line-level out from the iPod or connecting via the headphone output? The headphone output will likely cause some distortion depending on the volume you have your iPod set at. If that's the case, try varying the volume on the iPod and the volume of the car stereo until you get the best sound.

As for the CD changer jack, you'll have to read the manual for your particular stereo to see how to set that up.

My JVC car radio has the aux input already. iPod ready. But I'm thinking of buying the iPod adapter to connect to it's CD changer jack in the back of the radio. So I was wondering if it would have a better sound quality than just plugging my iPod to the Aux input in front of the radio.

You probably would get similar sound from the aux-in and the CD-changer jack, which is essentially an aux-in. That may vary depending on the electronics of your particular radio.

You would probably see the biggest sound improvement by switching from a headphone output to a line-output signal from the ipod connector on the bottom of the ipod. Something like this.
