Hello,

I wanted to know if I could use ccc for something. I have an extra apple 60GB harddrive that I have made into an external harddrive. Would it work as a backup drive? it is connected by USB. Also, does it compress the data? Or will it make the backup the same size as the hard drive?

Yes, CCC will clone your 1st hard drive to your second so you will have an exact mirror (well pretty much exact). If you want to boot from it you'll have to use a firewire connection (booting from USB not supported in Macs). Don't know about the compression question, when I used it I had the backup exactly the same size as the first. You might also want to look at
