card reader not recognized

Since upgrading(really, that's what they call it) to 10.11.4 I can no longer import photos because the card reader does not show up for selection by Lightroom. I am gathering that this is an operating system problem. Does any one know of a fix.

I have also had occasional freezes, but re-starting has always restored operation.

I don't know if this is applicable to Lightroom, I use PS and Bridge. But Adobe has a BIG problem, IMHO. And it's not being addressed:

I've been using using two Lexar Pro card readers (CFR1 & SR1) under 10.11.4 just fine for a couple months. However, I've been manually dragging and dropping since 1995 and always disable auto downloads in preferences. I use multiple apps for image processing (DPP, Adobe, Affinity, Aperture, etc.) and need to know where the file goes. I would say drag & drop into folders of your choice until Adobe fixes your autoload code.
