When I did initially purchase my Apple Watch (LTE), I used Verizon as my carrier. Later, I switched the phone and the watch to T-Mobile. Turns out that Verizon still charged me for the Watch ($73.18/month!!!). You need to cancel the account and just switching to another carrier doesn't stop billing.

They explained the $73 due to the $10 fee for the watch + unlimited data plan.

When you delete the plan off of your watch, it very clearly states simply deleting the plan will not cancel your service. Cancelling the plan every time you remove it from your watch would cause a lot of headaches for people who are replacing or upgrading their watches.

While this is true it seems odd that they would allow a watch on the plan without a phone as it clearly requires a phone to work. Would have thought it would at least trigger an inquiry by Verizon.
