Carphone Warehouse to close all 11 Best Buy shops in UK

The 11 Best Buy stores are part of Best Buy Europe, a joint venture between US group Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse.

The first Best Buy store in the UK only opened in April of last year. The outlets have failed to make a profit.

To be honest I prefer BestBuy to the DSG groups that are around (pcworld/currys etc). They seem to know more about the product and there's a certain professionalism to the workers too.

I agree, I've been impressed by the staff in my local store. The chap on the Apple stand has been very helpful and I chose to buy my iPad from them last Friday.

It will be a shame to see them go so soon, they've hardly give it a chance to establish itself in the UK.

Every time I've been to the Thurrock store it's been a pleasant experience.

Such a shame that people are going to lose their jobs in this climate.
