So up until 18.1 I believe, when my wireless CarPlay connected, it would auto play what was last playing on my phone. Awesome I like that. But it would automatically open the music app in CarPlay and display it on the screen. Now it just shows the generic CarPlay “home” screen. But still plays the music. Anyone else annoyed by this? Photos for reference. The Home Screen and the music app open (which it used to do on its own).

Thst is not an Apple problem. You may need to update the software on your device, if it really bothers youl
Similar issue here. On our GMC with wireless CarPlay the music starts if it was playing when I turned off the car and stays on pause if I paused before turning the car off. But instead of showing CarPlay screen it looks like your second picture except it shows the generic GMC home screen with buttons along the bottom. Before the update it showed the song selection like your first picture.
It doesnt happen to me but i am upset that when i play a song I cant touch no the álbum title to show the song list of the álbum
Is it new in 18.2 or is it a bug?
On iOS 16 you can get this behavior and I like when I choose random on my library and stop in a song to choose another song of that album
