Upgraded to 13.1, using the new CarPlay in my 2018 Audi. Like it, but am wondering if there is a way to turn on the display of the speed limit other than specifying a destination. If I put in a destination, and let maps start guiding me, CarPlay shows the speed limit where I am. without a destination/route, it does not. Would like it to show up, any chance I am missing a setting for it?

Thanks in advance.

Only while navigating.
Sigh, guess I just need to keep using my Audi navigation. Not sure why it is not there, went to the Apple website and used the feedback option to request it.

Does anyone know if Waze or google maps show the speed limit without active navigation?

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, it’s a bummer. I do like the speed limits. I like using CarPlay so I end up navigating to “favorite” destinations even though I know how to get there, either to use Waze traffic routing or speed limits, etc.

Waze shows the speed limit without a destination

Waze will show it but Google and Apple dont for what ever reason.

Because, Apple and Google are only about navigating WHILE navigating, Waze, at it's heart, is a "commuting" tool and is ALL about navigating.

Apple and Google (for now) are more concerned about UI and POI's.

I have simply arrived at the point of using navigation all of the time, even if I know where I'm going. And that is where these tools will really come into play in the future as it will direct you to the fastest or simplest route. I can't tell you how many 10-15 minute trips I've taken that I know where I'm going where Maps has routed me on what I thought, at the time, was a wrong route, only to find out later that a road was closed or really slowed down due to traffic, construction, accident, etc.

I do like the idea of having it on all of the time though as speed limit signs are sometime infrequent or I may miss one when it changes speeds.
