Is it less buggy? My issues are Siri sometimes won't stop listening to a command so it never sends messages for instance, it crashes on startup when locking the screen or connecting it while head unit is booting.

I haven't used it enough to be able to tell... One thing that I do like... Regardless of what app you have open on your phone after you unplug it from CarPlay.. It will go back to the last app that was open when it was last on CarPlay

Ahh so you move the apps around on your phone? I was wondering if it might only work for cars that had touch screen.

Does you car show the turn by turn arrows in the dial/cockpit area? I was wondering if that would involve an update from the car manufacturer.

Yeah go to settings, general, CarPlay. Then click on your unit. The icons can be customized for each unit that you have.

Today was my day off so I really didn't drive much. I'm sure I'll get to test that out before too long though. :)

I'm also very interested to see how apple will implement the direction arrows in the centre console. surely it has to be a car manufacturer update?

Does it mean the direction arrows can also be displayed on a Head Up Display instead of the cockpit?!

What do you mean? As it stands, carplay supported cars show all the info on a screen including navigation. The central screen around the dial clusters behind the wheel like speed, petrol, temperature only shows manufacturer chosen info and car brand navigation arrows.

iOS 10 (apparently) will allow apple maps navigation arrows to appear there also per the below screenshot from the keynote.

We're all unsure as of yet if it's going to be a feature from day 1 of public release or if Car brands need to update everyone's software too.

Reorganizing apps is great.

The music and podcast apps have been redesigned a little bit. I still find the list view of For You to be hard to read and understand. The alphabet scrolling has been changed to a keyboard layout, which I think is better.

The Now Playing screen for Music has changed. There is now an ellipses next to the shuffle/add to library buttons. It replaced the heart icon. This brings up a tiny overlay that allows you to like/dislike and create a station. I wish you could quickly add songs to certain playlists and not just your library but it is an improvement for interacting with the music.

Maps looks a lot better in navigation. The view zooms out for long stretches and zooms in and takes an above view for turns. It's a lot more dynamic. I think they could take it further and zoom out even more at times.

It's totally stable and overall some good changes. I do wish they'd give Now Playing a quick switch icon like Maps has.

That still happens with siri, and you have to go "home" and retry.
