What carrying solutions are you guys finding?

I know there's the original box of course, and there is this and this on Amazon.

Of course we all need different solutions, one may need the protection that a hard form filled camera style case provides while another may just need a light fitted neoprene sleeve to tuck the mack into before putting it in a shoulder bag.

Im in the later category, but hey, it seems that apart from the above solutions it comes down to measuring the Mac and purchasing miscellaneous solutions that fit or you can make fit.

Anyone gone down this path?

The ones in the OPs original post look good (although not sure how much padding it offers) and not too pricey, but I'd planned to buy a camera backpack/case on Amazon, nothing that's marked as Mac Studio specifically, but with adjustable velcro padding.

You can also get a hard case with the foam cubes that you rip out to fit the item.

The Waterfield is too expensive for me, but then it's made in the USA.

Aye, I don't need a case because mine will never get moved off of my desk but I saw that posted somewhere here a couple of days ago and thought it looked really nice.

I suppose you have to look at the initial investment in the cost of the Mac Studio and then factor in the cost of the case and how often it's needed. If I were buying one (I'm not), that Waterfield would be very high on the list, even though I'd get stitched for import duty and vat (I'm in the UK as well). It's still a relatively small cost compared to the price of the Studio.

It's the same logic as buying a useless £1.99 screen protector for a £1200 phone, just to save a little bit. I'd rather spend a few quid more and get something that actually works.

Not that I use screen protectors, a naked phone is the best phone :D

The Mac Studio doesn't impress me as being the kind of Mac (due to form factor) that one would want to "carry around" much.

That's what MacBook Pro's are for...

I thought this looked very nice. Not cheap though.
Looks like a great soft solution I'm sure. Personally not a fan of using leather at all in anything and the rustic leather look isn't me besides.

Neoprene and 2/3 the price and id be all over it.

Interestingly, wasn't MacRumors using this sort of rustic leather design for quite a few of their giveaways a couple of years back? Laptop bags, backpacks, etc. Think it was all the same company and they had a similar style.

Yeah, same. Not looking forward to the measuring and trawling amazon for (correct) dimensions. Needs to be done I guess.

Maybe try to see beyond your own life. Some people have more than one residence, in my case in two different countries. For some of us, one of the attractions of the Mac Studio is that it fits in an airplane overhead bin. I'll bet Apple noticed that too, not to mention the companies that are making travel cases for the Mac Studio :)

While I am very happy with the M1 Max MBP 14, I can't help but think about using a maxed out M1 Ultra Studio at home and office. If there is a 40-core CPU and 1+TB RAM option in the future, that will literally be a supercomputer on the go!

I have to admit that if one is determined to "carry a Studio around", the case in the link that Sharky posted in reply 11 above looks pretty good.

I'll probably order that one that I linked above in the next week or so as I need to transport my Studio to London for a couple of studio sessions and don't want to use the box. I'll let you guys know how I find it.

The Pelican "1200 Protector Case" model looks like it would fit everything and it's only $70 bucks but doesn't seem like a comfy, over the shoulder solution.
You're right. Pelican hard cases are for rough use situations, although I guess you could stick a strap on it to carry around.

I have a stack of Pelican cases for still/video camera gear, wireless mics, etc. They have lasted for many years and endured some hard use without issue.

I have a grey Codura carry case that my 128k Mac lives in that is almost identical.

Here's a new one (to me), seems pretty good, at a reasonable price: https://www.amazon.co.uk/RLSOCO-Case-Apple-Mac-Studio/dp/B0B38SDJ5F/
I have this exact one purchased from Amazon.com
Currently traveling to Europe, it worked great as a “personal item” next to my carry-on.

It holds the Mac Studio really well and the power cord + Magic Mouse fits in the side compartment.

On the internal divider it holds other external 2.5” hard drives, external SSD’s , USB thumb drives, AirPods, cables etc. and you have the mesh zippered pocket for other stuff (documents etc.)

The cut-outs on the sides are well thought and makes handling the Mac Studio, in and out of the case, super easy.

I really love it !
It's almost the perfect solution for moving the Mac Studio between locations.
One thing that I wish it had: a little longer size so you can fit a full size Magic Keyboard. I carried my keyboard in the original box in my carry-on bag.

Also, it's nice that on the outside it's just boring looking with unknown branding.
Nobody can tell that you have 3 to 5K (or more) worth of gear in there :)
