Hi,
Looking for recommendations for a case for my 11" MBA. Looking for a lightweight but sturdy cover for MBA? Does a sleeve really protect vs the harder jacket type covers? thanks...

I'm very happy with my Brenthaven sleeve for my 11" MBA. I think it would protect the MBA well if it got dropped. It protects the MBA on all sides with a thin layer of foam, sleeve is lined with a soft fabric (like a short fake fur), outside has a small fur-lined phone pocket. Sleeve also has a strap you put your hand through to carry it securely.

I use it in combination with a Timbuk2 laptop messenger bag. The MBA in the sleeve slides right into the laptop compartment in the messenger. I travel a lot and work with clients who need to screen my bags before I go into their facilities, I can just keep the MBA in the sleeve, reduced the risk of scratches and slightly reduces the potential for theft (isn't initially obvious that its a MBA if it is in the sleeve).

I have a timbuk2 bag as well... been just putting the MBA in the bag.

Was using the CaseLogic case but did not like the fit:

think i am going to switch to this one:

the hard candy model really looks sturdy...

Using a Speck charcoal case for my 13 UMBA, fit's nicely and doesn't add much weight. Like it for carrying in my backpack to avoid added stress on the MBA frame. Also use the Radtech sleeve to keep out dust.

I just bought a nice spec clear hard case on ebay for 18.00 with free shipping. I would suggest looking there if you want a great deal.
