Case-mate screen protector messed up my glass - any way to fix it?

At the AT&T store I purchased a 3-pack of Case-Mate screen protectors. I attempted to install one, and there was dust or something underneath it (despite the wiping/hand washing, etc. I did) so I tried to remove it immediately after installation. It was so stuck on there that I had to pull really hard to get it off. Now my screen does not have the smooth, "slidey" feeling it should have. It's kind of like your finger gets stuck, more like a squeaky clean window instead of a waxed car feeling. I can't find any evidence of residue, it's more like it took off something that was on top of the original glass, if that makes any sense. Even my kids noticed it.

Any suggestions on how I can get that smoothness back again? It's brand new and I'm pretty bummed about it.

As far as I know the iPhone's screen is glass, I think it's highly unlikely a screen protector could rip off a coating (if there is one there which I don't think there is - otherwise surely it'd wear away after a while anyway leaving people's iPhone screens looking manky).

It's probably just residue, so you could buy some iKlear (never used it myself but people say it's good), or how about some lens cleaner for glasses from an opticians? Spray on to a cloth first, not directly on to the iPhone's screen or it'll end up in the earpiece!

Thanks, I tried your idea, and the upshot is that it also saved me a lot of money in haircuts. Unfortunately the bill from the trauma unit is going to offset the savings...

The iPhone fared better, and despite a slightly melted look, is working quite well. The glass is bumpy, but much more slidey now.

On a serious note, I tried the alcohol, which didn't help much, unfortunately, (although the glass seems perfectly clean) and I'll order some iKlear and see if that helps. Thanks for all the suggestions.
