Guys I have a quick maybe stupid question.
With Catalina being 64 bit only will I be able to mount my western digital mybooks which are usb. I don’t use any security or the western digital apps with them. I just plug and play to drag and drop files.
I just thought of this.
I did buy a new usb-c wd also today to have another backup for my pictures but that’s what got me thinking.

again I just want the drives to mount and I can drag and drop.

Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question.
Thanks,
Jimi

You should be fine dragging and dropping files. The 64 bit only requirement applies to applications, not files.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I didn’t even get to open the box yesterday when it came. Was trying to make sure all my files were backed up and then I noticed a safari bookmark issue that anything I bookmark on my Mac doesn’t carry over to my iPhones and pads and anything I bookmark on pads and phones carryover to each other bit not the Mac. It started in August. From what I notice based on bookmarks bit it’s not like anything changed with my old Mac since then?

Sounds like it's about iCloud and Safari sync. Many had Apple ID and iCloud issues when installing Catalina.

Might want to toggle Safari sync off on all devices then turn back on.

Safari made a mess of mine in the past and I had to export, delete, then import what I needed. Mine had ended up with 1000+ all outside the folder structure. So definitely want a good export backup copy.

As said, Catalina will only run 64bit applications. Copying files using the Finder's unaffected.
Ok thanks. I knew Catalina was only 64 bit for applications but didn’t know if that would affect mounting and using finder.
