My home/office had been quiet since I installed Catalina on my server on the release day. For many years, I had iTunes playing music from my old iPod 24/7/365 in my media room/office and the quietness is driving me into silence but I am not meditating.

So, I read this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/itunes-12-6-5-3-on-macos-catalina-10-15.2184518/ However, the focus there in on Catalina beta. I have Catalina build 19A602 and have downloaded Itunes 12.8.2 as well as iTunesAccess.pkg.

So, has anyone got iTunes to work on the above Catalina build? I need Internet Radio and the ability to play the songs from my old iPod that Catalina managed to split into two drives. Pine app did the same thing as Music and Oneradio app cannot import the Internet Radio list from iTunes. I am willing to try substitutes apps for iTunes.

This hack is not recommended. If you need to run iTunes, revert to Mojave. This is the only reasonable way.

There is no turning back as already did a clean install, restore from backup, and deleted the backup for a clean Catalina backup...if I go to Mojave, I won't able to restore from a Catalina backup. What about alternatives to iTunes...any word?

are you saying I'll need to start with Itunes 12.6.5.3?
No. That script can be used with iTunes 12.6 or iTunes 12.8 dmg files downloaded from Apple. Run the script, select iTunes12.8.2.dmg, say Yes when asked to Save patched iTunes as an installable pkg? and install the iTunes13.6.5.pkg saved on your Desktop.

Just to be sure, are you running the script in Terminal or Xcode?

Neither, in Script Editor /Applications/Utilities/Script Editor.app

Well, I ran the script and installed iTunes 13.6.5...when I launched iTunes, I got this:

The other issue is iTunes is seeing another user using the iPod! However, there is only one user/administrator!

And when I tried to install iTunes access, I get this:

If you restored from a Mojave backup, your iTunes library was created by iTunes 12.9.5.5. Either create a new one or look into the Previous iTunes Libraries folder for a iTunes Library.itl file created by iTunes 12.8.
I haven't heard of that one before, maybe try to disconnect it from Finder.
I've explained here how to install iTunesAccess https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/has-anyone-gotten-an-ipod-shuffle-2nd-gen-to-work.2196567/

Yes Bogdawn, I did restore from Mojave backup so that explains the behavior...just like system preference software update constantly pestering me to upgrade to Catalina beta2 (participated in beta testing).

So, I followed your suggestion in the link above...all WORKED GREAT...
Then, I enabled SIP again...spoiled the iPod show! I really hope Apple fixes this.
