Keep getting this "network connection was lost error". Our ISP connection is 350mbps cable via Virgin Media UK. Tried two different Wifi routers. Rebooted several times. It downloads up to 1GB or maybe 2GB before randomly failing. After restarting the download, the progress falls back to 500MB and the cycle repeats itself.

Anyone else getting this? Been trying since yesterday to download. It's so frustrating :(

Is there a direct link one can use instead of the the app store?

Perhaps it something along the lines that the servers are saturated and if you wait a bit, you'll be all set.

I had a similar issue, that I only solved by removing the failed download and then attaching to my router via CAT5 cable and repeating the upgrade.

Great suggestion. Trying it now. Thank you.

I do wonder if by any chance you have a Netgear R7000 or R7800? (those are my two)

Update: Didn't work unfortunately. It just ended up downloading faster on the cable.

I'll try plugging into the cable modem / router directly skipping the LAN.

Good news, finally got it working.

Specifically the problem turned out to be the Virgin Media Superhub 3.0 (SH3). YYMV

BTW a total piece of craptastic hardware with the utterly useless Intel PUMA6 chipset with crippling performance issues. VM generously forces users to use this and ban 3rd party cable modems that actually work. But I digress.

The download error occurs when the SH3 is set in "modem mode" and using your own wifi router (eg a Netgear R7000)

Solution: Change the SH3 back to "router mode". Download using the wifi or ethernet on the SH3 directly.
