Hi All

Running latest Mojave and installed dev program profile pkg. Download Catalina Dev Beta 5 and start install. Asks for what disk to install to, so I select my internal flash, does something for 15 mins or so and says rebooting. Does reboot and back to Mojave login screen.

What's going on?

2014 MBP 13", running FileVault.

I am having the same issue since either beta 2 or beta 3. I have tried reinstalling many times the profile. turn off and on auto updates. Mines says "Update not found" "The requested version of MacOS is not available"

Works fine for me actually was very smooth

Thanks for your replies, however neither is really relevant to my issue :(

I'm having the same issue on my 5K iMac 2017. It downloads, restarts, starts updating (black screen with white bar and Apple logo), but in two or three minutes I am on the login screen booting in the old version.

I'm happy to know that many of you guys are having issues to install Catalina :D At least I am not the only one suffering this LOL

I also dont see the update. I just recently had time to give my computer a proper backup so I was all ready to give catalina a go. I thought it would be simple enough, but looking back I did notice some odd behavior with software updater while on mojave. Sometimes, the option to upgrade to catalina was there, and sometimes it wasn't

Yup same issue .... I don't think the black screen/white bar/Apple logo is the install, I think it's just the system booting normally. I did an upgrade to Cat from Moj in a VM and when it reboots you get the estimated time as it installs

Attach your:
/private/var/log/install.log file

Will do when I'm near the machine, thanks

I'm now stuck with a "boot" try and then a black screen.

Anyone with good advice? Really don't want to create a USB installer and wipe. It's been years since I had to do that

Well I got it back to the "Estimating time remaining" screen.

Trying to update my Macbook Early 2015 to Catalina and I get this screen.

Guys, are we all running on APFS? I got my Mac up and running again by whipping the drive, doing a fresh install, and recovering everything from time machine. Yes, it sucks. Last developer beta was the same story. I would like to go back from APFS to HFS+
