When I try to login to FaceTime on my MBP, I get this error "This account has no reachable addresses. Please sign in to appleid.apple.com in order to add one"

When I do login, I see that it is mentioned I have 1 email (which is my @icloud email and one Phone number).

What gives?

I am able to use FaceTime from my iPhone 11 Pro and it says "Reachable: my phone number" but also when I try to click on Use your Apple ID for FaceTime it hangs there for a while then says unable to sign in, please try again later.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

i havent come across this myself, but your description is clear and gives a suggestion of what is happening.

for some reason your mac is not able to use your apple ID log in ID as a valid iCloud sign in.
there is no problem on yr phone since your phone can reach you via your mobile number. and your iPhone as well also senses you dont have a valid email address registered/verfied for use as an iCloud reachable address.

when you sign in to apple ID site, there are two main columns:
at left there is apple ID and on the right is reachable at
on the right side (the reachable at) click edit and make sure you have clicked your email address to be able to reached at.
This is what it shows:

it does look like it should be no problem.
i think on yr iPhone if its not causing a problem, i would sing out of your iCloud account and then sign in again to yr iPhone iCloud account.
then on yr mac, after you reboot it, sign out of your iCloud account and then sign in.

if these are the only two devices you have it should work. if you have some other device other than these two it is possible that that device is somehow signed in using a different/earlier iCloud account name?
No, then is a brand new Apple ID that I just created and I just formatted both my iPhone and MBP so I don't think that would fix anything.

I had the same issue. And not sure exactly how I fixed it. But I went both on the site and then into System Preferences -> Apple ID -> Name, Phone, Email where it seemed to fetch the info, having already my reachable number there, so I didn't make any changes. Opened and logged into again FaceTime and it worked.

When I called to get support, the Apple Tech said that my account needed to be whitelisted (after removing my account, rebooting, and re-adding). Once she did that, that error message went away and I could log in successfully. I think I first set that account up while on a hotspot, and I'm guessing that IP address had been flagged as generating spam accounts.

I had the same issue with one of my Apple accounts. I confirm it was blacklisted. This happens when for any reason your ISP considers your account as spamming and notifies Apple.
The Apple Tech just cleared my account online (today) and I could log in successfully.

One more info: no reboot needed.

Forgot to mention that I fixed it guys, all I had to do was to change the store from UAE to US. I put a US Address and no payment method. After switching to the US Store, I was able to login on my iPhone and MacBook Pro. Then I switched back to the UAE store but I remained logged in on all my devices so that's the trick.
