I’m actually having more crashes and issues on a set up as new 2020 MBP than I was with a 2011 dosduded MBP with Catalina!
Just look at the other threads here I think you will fast get to the position of understanding the problem and that the only resolution is to continue to wait and hope that Apple fixes the issue. Given the number of complaints on Kernel Panics it is unlikely that you have an isolated problem. As per the Apple Community feedback best answer is to disable all power saving, never sleep, and potentially never turn off your Mac.

Apple seems to go through phases where one OS breaks new ground and the next one cleans up the mess, so chances are that if it is not working well for you by now it's probably just a case of hanging on until the new OS is released in September typically. For those happily using Mojave who have concerns I would suggest staying where you are.
is this your scientific assessment? and how does this help people who are currently having issues?
No it's merely based on having used every version of Mac OS full-time since OS 8 sometime in the last century before OS X even existed... My whole business revolves around the computer on my desk that generally runs 24/7 and some Mac OS versions are simply more glitchy than others. Mojave has been the most stable OS I have ever used, whereas High Sierra with APFS was risky at first to say the least.
If you want to try something proactive, make a backup, wipe the hard drive and only re-import essential data to a clean install. The OP hasn't told us any background information like the kind of apps in use, age of the computer, attached peripherals or how Catalina was installed. Ultimately he has to fix this himself or wait for Apple to come out with something better.
some versions of the OS are more glitchy than others... for you.
or, are you saying we should all base our mac OS commitments based on your experience? i've been around (only) since 10.2, yet my own experience leads me to a different conclusion. who do i trust?
Why, you trust me, of course. I'm more right than anyone else here. Even when I'm wrong, I'm right! /s
In all seriousness, you've hit the nail on the head. For me Mojave and Catalina have been both rock solid. Ditto iOS 13.
I truly believe though that other folk are simply having a devil of a time with Catalina.
Like you say, who's right?
Completely agree. Mojave and Sierra both were rock solid. Catalina and High Sierra, OTOH, were/are hot messes. I've noticed that each odd-numbered macOS release has been pretty bad/glitchy, compared to the even-numbered releases. Leopard, Lion, Mavericks, El Capitan, High Sierra, and now Catalina were all messy and bad, IME. However, Tiger, Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion, Yosemite, Sierra, and Mojave were all great. Strange how that happens, really hoping 10.16 will be another great release this fall.I am new to Catalina having recently purchased a Mac mini and I was somewhat concerned following all the reports of problems, especially since Mojave on my old computer is the best OS I have ever used. So far Catalina has been good for me with no serious problems, however I did start from a clean install on a new computer and only brought over the minimum essentials from the old computer.
