H therei, I'm a Web Developer and use a 2017 27" 3.4 i5 iMac with 40gb ram and am trying to gauge on whether to upgrade to Catalina today. I like being on the latest updates and like what comes with Catalina, and can handle a few bugs.
I've read and watched allot since it's release, however, I'm finding it hard to find info on the things I'm concerned about. Which are performance as in speed and comparing it to the latest version of Mojave on my setup? Appreciate this is pretty vaige and so will happily provide any more info that can be useful in helping me to decide.
Maybe someone has some Geekbench scores with my setup or similar, handy?

Thank you :)

The .2 release of Catalina performs very well on my machine. If you are not encumbered by by 32-bit applications you should be fine.

My Advice?
Install it on a spare SSD and test it out. Then you won't be taking any risks.
