Mac Mini late 2014
Headless server being used as HTPC, so no keyboard or screen

Software update seemed happy to update from Mojave to Catalina
All seemed to go well
Using screen sharing I went back into the Mini and all seemed ok but I’m unable access the internet
Ethernet connection to my Netgear router
Network page on system preferences says everything is ok, but no internet

I then went to Apple icon and “about”
This tells me I still have Mojave installed

Any ideas please?

The only idea is to install Catalina you'll need a keyboard and screen. I have been running headless Mac Mini close to ten years and haven't found any other way to upgrade. A HTPC needs a theater screen. I also use my Mac Mini as an HTPC; however, it's connected to my big 100ins screen but for normal use it's headless/screen share.
