Any notes from late model Mac users? I have a MacBook Pro 2019 8 core 2.4 and sometimes Apple includes optimizations for these later model machines when a new OS is around the corner. Anybody have anything to report there or on overall speed?

Running butter smooth for me. I didn't install until yesterday with the GM. The only issue I have had was iCloud asking me to sign in over and over. I solved it by logging out of iCloud and back in again.

Here with Catalina GM running a MacBook Pro 15 2015 500 Samsung 970 Evo.

Very simple, fast and smooth... better than Mojave!

how it runs on a fusion drive? I have a late 2015 iMac with FD. Mojave runs okay, but if its slower than that, I'll pass.

I installed it on 2 machines - 2019 15" mbp, 2019 mba. Both feel great. There is a 5 sec lag when I click on individual sub-panels on apple id panel but other than that, it's good. Feels as good as mojave if not better. I actually like catalina. It feels more refined than mojave.

MacBook Pro 2019 Vega 20 model the gm doesn’t feel polished like Mojave for me, like general ui animations
Have had it installed for about 4 hours and this is my exact impression. MBP 2019 2.4 8c. 32gb RAM 560x.

After installing Catalina, performance feels about the same in my late 2015 iMac with 1TB Fusion Drive.

But in Activity monitor if nothing is open, the inactivity % is around 94-95% but before Catalina it was about 97-98%. I can't see what's different is running in the background so my question is, does Catalina runs new things in the background by default ?

My Geekbench 3 scores are nearly the same as in Mojave. SSD read/write speed is also about the same.

I have noticed it's using more RAM. Quite a bit more RAM. Like, it's using 13GB right now. But then I launched an app (Zwift) and that number dropped significantly. So I think it's just using RAM differently and I trust Apple will get the overall performance polished soon.

Running Catalina on the oldest supported MBP, 2012 13” non-Retina. It’s butter smooth, and honestly I would be able to get by comfortably if it were my only computer.

installation took longer than Mojave, but I think that could also be my old SSD showing signs of old age.

MBP 15'' 2018 2.6 core i7 and Radeon 560X, 16GB RAM

It ran horribly for the first couple of hours, probably indexing and other stuff.
Today, I used it all day and it's fine.

The only thing bothering me is when I connect an external monitor it flickers to 2 times the external display for some stupid annoying reason.

Nevertheless, it does work fine afterwards. I cannot see any difference between it and Mojave - but I guess that's anyway the point.

Sidecar - well I used it, not extensively but I was upgrading for that reason.

Sidecar was nice?
