Catalina ruined Reminders for me. The new app is very buggy, slow, and messed up all my check lists. After a week of reorganising and trying to get used to it, I'm finally fed up!

Please, where can I find an older version of the Reminders app to download? Im hoping it will work just like old iMovie worked in the past.

Otherwise I will have to move to a third party app :(

Out of luck re: old version of Reminders. First, no such thing exists. Second:

To use the new Reminders features in iOS 13—smart lists, a new quick toolbar, and more—you need to upgrade the reminders in your iCloud account.

[...]

Upgraded reminders aren't compatible with earlier versions of iOS and macOS.

So if you could get an earlier version of the app/program, your iCloud account is converted to the new version and no going back.

Unless the OP did not do the upgrade. When you first open the new Reminders app you are presented with the option of upgrading your reminders database. If you do not, many new features won't work, but it remains compatible with older devices if that's a priority. If that is the case it may be possible to run a version of the Reminders app from Mojave.

I did not do the upgrade to the new version. I'm still on iOS 12 and I'm hoping that the Mojave version of Reminders will work just as before. I just don't know where to get it.

I put my Mojave version up on my iCloud Drive so you can download it from me. I'll delete the online copy when you have it so for future readers the link is probably dead.
Keep in mind that even if it does work it is an unsupported configuration and may have bugs.
When the new versions of Pages came along, the old version kept working for many many releases (may even still), but some UI elements appeared slightly incorrectly. YMMV with this sort of thing.

And for the future, remember that backups are good to have :). Time Machine, CCC, whatever you want. You'll have something to revert to, either a whole system or just pieces here and there.

I can't just download 'a copy'. I click on it, but nothing happens.

Apple ruined this good older reminder application. No export, in import, no good usability. And it seems very buggy also. I still search how to get out of a task. Pressing enter do nothing, pressing esc key seem to reject any changes I make.
I can't believe how the messed everything up.

Weirdly the download a copy doesn't work for me either. But you should be able to add It to your iCloud with the button above by logging in with your Apple ID. It'll show up in your iCloud Drive then and you can take it from there.

Export and import functionality does seem to be there, but may require the updated backend database

Even with updated backend, Export/Import is no longer there.

Reminders are now stored in sql-lite databases vs old caldav-like xml files. And where you once could create an Calendar Archive from Calendars of both Calendars and Reminders, the archive no longer contains Reminder items.

Stores % ls -l | awk '{print $5"\t"$6"\t"$7"\t"$8"\t"$9"\t"$10}'

Thanks for the correction. I don't have a Catalina install handy at the moment. Could've sworn I saw import/export buttons during the beta program though. And I mean, could still be possible to export and import even though it's now an SQL database. I would've liked to have overheard the discussions about the storage model to go with though. Both when they changed and initially. I think if I were building a Reminders app right now, I'd make it JSON, but that might not be very optimal for larger datasets at all. It'd just be pretty simple to get working quickly

Thank you so much for uploading it! Unfortunately the it didn't work. Apple does not allow me to run it since there is a newer version installed and I can't delete that new version :(

I guess I'll have to find a third party replacement

:(

This new version is the crappiest app that Apple has shipped since Maps.

When I delete a reminder it takes a good 3-4 seconds for it to update. The whole interface is confusing. There's lots of bugs and crashes, and above all it messed up all my previous lists!

What a piece of S*

The new Reminders work really well for me. They are fast to update and with a friendlier UI IMHO.

It works well across all of my devices except when I’m booted to Mojave.

Mojave can’t/won’t run the newer version and Catalina can’t/won’t run the older version. It was a very poor transition in my opinion. There should be an option to allow Mojave to sync with iOS 13 and Catalina reminders.

I has lost so much functionality! It baffles me that I can't mass move reminders anymore. Gotta do one by one. Unbelievable!

As the situation becomes really dangerous, by losing track of my needed tasks and so on,
please give me a good and trusty alternative commercial task manager application,
to try migrating over there.

If I could import my old exported file from the previous version of reminders (.ics file format), it would be really great.

In order to avoid similar experimental ideas like those of apple's in reminders,
please give me a suggestion with stability, an application that it is here for long, and possibly with future.
An established solution.
I really need it, as I found myself losing important schedules while I try to figure out what is going on with reminders, and I have already lost tasks and actions that I should have taken.

Weird; I'm still able to select and move multiple reminders with the new app. Although, I'm on the 10.15.1 beta, so maybe it was fixed?

Hopefully so!

Theres this app called Things that I've noticed to be on top 10 on the App Store for a long time.

Im giving it and so far it seems to me that Apple's new Reminders app is actually trying to be a (very poor) copy of Things.

I did not do the upgrade to the new version. I'm still on iOS 12 and I'm hoping that the Mojave version of Reminders will work just as before. I just don't know where to get it.

I don’t think you can, tbh. You can downgrade to Mojave, though, but that’s a hassle. Perhaps the Reminders are buggy because you didn’t do a full upgrade? Don’t know, really. They work quite well for me.

Things is awesome and I love it, one of my favorite apps. There are a few downsides compared to Reminders - there is no family sharing, Things doesn’t support photo attachments like Reminders and, finally, there is the price. I bought Things for my iPhone, iPad and Mac and - while I certainly don’t regret my purchase - the combined price was 80 dollars! Which is much, much more than what Reminders cost (nothing!). And Reminders are not bad, they are actually quite ok.

With that said, Things is amazing on all three platforms and I really like it. It is my main todo app.
