Updated overnight. Connected to Apple Cinema display (using dongles of course) and the Cinema display is blank. The Macbook Pro 16" screen is fine. The windows are displayed on the Cinema display, just that it's blank.

Have to disconnect the Cinema display and reconnect to get it to show the contents. THIS IS NOT FUNNY when your backup discs are connected to the Cinema display -- so you have to open a finder window on the MBP to eject the discs.

Has happened both times I've woken it this morning.

Anyone else?

There is another thread running here regarding monitors going black after 10.15.2. I guess Apple have continued the saga of breaking external monitors even more by the looks of it. Given my reliance I'm not upgrading so I thank you for the post.

Damn thing. As soon as I posted above it happened again.

I'm suspecting this is something to do with VMWare Fusion running when the display locks. Workaround is to unplug and plug in the cinema display.

Same issue here since .2 and my LG ultrafine. When my 16” MBP goes to sleep on its own, then waking it up after a while, the display doesn’t wake up. I have to disconnect and reconnect.

Well 10.15.2 kernel dumped on me twice last night. Not as stable as 10.15.1 which did not do this at all. Rolling back due to poor quality minor upgrade. I'm done with Apple really.
