I've been reading and reading but I'm still a bit confused.

I unlocked my iPhone to use on TMobile USA when I first got it. It went flawlessly, and everything works.
I used this website to do it, although what is on the page has changed since I was there.

After I got it working, I never synced, never added new music, I just charge on the dock, plugged into the wall. Was totally paranoid about getting in over my head if something went wrong.

So I guess right now it is on 1.1.1. I've read about ZiPhone ... would that be a good way for me to go? Obviously I want to keep it on Tmobile.

By doing that, would I gain access to things like the iTunes music store? When I unlocked I remember you had to keep your iTunes at a certain version... is that a thing of the past? If I updated, could I sync?

Also if anyone feels like being really kind, could you please tell me if there are any steps I need to take on the phone, considering what has already been done to it, to get it ready for the ZiPhone thing?

Thanks so much, any help is greatly appreciated.

Well to use ziphone you will want to restore your phone to virgin status and then upgrade the firmware (if you want). After you have done that, you can run ziphone to activate, unlock, and jailbreak your phone.

But make sure you restore your phone to virgin status, not really sure if its complicated with the earlier versions of unlocking.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad I didn't just try to install without restoring the phone first. Can I do that in iTunes? Any version of iTunes? I'm still a bit lost...

And hesitant. I'd love to get the phone updated, but at the same time it was awfully expensive for me to mess with.
