Hello,

Is it possible to clone imac's hd to a new mini?
Ok I know it's possible, but I have read that the mini has a specific OS version for the fusion drives. There is only a single ssd in the mini, no fusion drives, do you think that the cloning will work in this case?

Thank you in advance,:)

10.8.3 should be a universal OS now. There was a specific 10.8.2 OS build for the mini but that was only because the Mini was released after 10.8.2 was.

Thank you very much Paul, this is my answer.:)

you could clone the imac to an external usb3 drive like this

plug it into the mini and pick it as the boot drive.

you should have a clone of your imac anyway

Thank you Philip:), yes I have one, i was worried only about long term compatibility issues.

My guess (and it's _only_ a "guess") is that so long as 10.8.3 from your iMac boots the Mini (and it seems to run ok now), when the 10.8.4 update comes out, if you download and install the combo update, that should "clear up" any possible "incompatibility issues"...
