My CCC backup is 160GB, but my MBP SSD contains 240GB. I know CCC doesn't copy the OS, but that is only a portion of the delta. Any idea what the rest of the stuff is? I want to make sure that I am really creating a full and complete backup.
 
That is a great article. Thanks for the link. It seems like all those files CCC doesn't copy aren't necessary for a backup.

Is it possible for those files rot equal 80GB? Im wondering if I may have space on my MBP SSD wasted on unnecessary things.
 
Depending on what apps you use, you could easily have for example cache files that add up to that amount, along with all the other stuff excluded.
