no no need for ,why would you want another backup app , i mean you got time machine and you got ccc , another backup app would be overkill , ok harddrives brake down sometimes , but not that often to justify so many backup programs , i usually make one backup with carbon copy cloner on a external drive same size as internal right after i have setup everything on the mac , just in case the harddrive fails so i just have to swap drives and save time reinistalling ,
after thats done i only use time machine on another external drive for just in case osx would get destroyed by something ...like my mates little cousin thinks again it would be interesting to see what happens if you put in a osx disc and click install and follows the instructions ...cant leave these kids alone in front of a computer

ok i dont want another program im new at this i just read that you have to have that psync installed for ccc thats all as im having no luck with it at the moment as it just hangs at a section called bin/sh so dont know whats going on , just want to do a image like i could with Acronis in windows.

sorry never came across of such a problem neither on my ppc macs or on my intel mac and neither with osx tiger, leopard and even snow leopard , ccc always worked flawless ccc is better then acronis as it makes a bootable copy instead of a image , thats why i said just swapping the harddrives needed if one breaks down
