CCC settings ???

I am about to clone my internal disk to an external HDD, should I create it as a disk image or not ?...and what other things to do and don't do

I never do. The only option I select is to repair permissions before cloning.

But you might want to partition your external drive before you start filling it up. You can then keep your clone seperate from all the other stuff you want to store - makes it a lot easier to keep organised.
