I had to install OS9 in a mac running 10.3.9. So I tryed to boot from the CD, (preferences/startup disk/osCD) but the screen shows a small picture of a file broke (not the sad mac smile). And now I can't startup my computer.
My question is: how avoid boot from the CD, to go back to boot from the HD with the 10.3.9 installed?

I wish there is some hold-key that allows me to jump-over the CD boot and go back to start from the OS installed in the Hard drive.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hold down option and it should give you all available boot devices. Select the one you want. I also think that if you hold X, then it will go to OS X.

grapes911: thanks you, thankyou, thank you.
I'll try that tomorrow morning at work. Hope that help.

I wish there is some way to take out the CD. But I can find a way to do it, while the mac is starting.
