CD Burn Help?

Sorry, this is probably a dumb question to you pros but I'm new to this.
I bought a pack of CD-Rs, brand new, and when I put one in my IMac 9.2 it's telling me the disk is locked and cannot be initialized. Can't find a way to unlock it...any suggestions? I must burn my CD! Thanks so much

What software package are you using to burn the CD? As far as I remember OS 9 did/does not have built in CD burning from the Finder.

Thanks for replying, I have no idea. All I know is there is a program on the hard drive called 'cd burn' and under the 'special' pull-down menu there is a 'burn cd', and 'eject cd' button......
