CD burning on imac

I am photographing an event this weekend where I need to burn CD's on the spot. Is there anyway to tell the computer not to verify written data? should i just buy a roxio product? will that make it faster? right now it takes almost 11minutes to burn 680MB @ 24x speed that is will verifying. how can I speed that up?

yeah, im just using the burn function in finder

i use roxio. you would just tell it burn x number of copies and yes, you could turn off data verification. i don't really use the OS for disk burning so i can't help there.
you could look into the open source app burn if money for roxio is an issue.
