CD Drive problem

Since the last time I burned a CD with iTunes on my G4 Power PC, the CD tray has been opening and closing on its own every few minutes, and does not recognize any CD put in.

Does anyone have any suggestions or am I completely out of luck? Time for a new computer?

maybe not a new computer, but maybe a new CD drive perhaps?

Try resetting your PRAM. It almost definitely won't work but it's easy to do and certainly worth a try.

Then go and buy a new optical drive.
