Hi,

I have a 17" iSight iMac G5.

Last night after I finished downloading a song from the iTunes music store, I was going to burn a copy of that particular song as well as others to a blank cd-r disk. I inserted a blank cd-r and it whirred a little bit but the cd-r never mounted on the desktop/showed up in iTunes but it did prompt me saying that a blank cd had been entered and asked what I wanted to do with it (which I am accustomed to). Everything seems normal (the prompt included) except the cd-r will not mount.

So, I inserted DVD's...commercial cd's...and even cd-r's that I made in the past and they all mounted fine without any sort of problem. All of a sudden, my Mac won't recognize just regular old blank cd-r disks.

Please help.  :(

You are expecting the CD-R to show up on the Desktop? I usually tell the system to ignore a bland CD-R. When you do this nothing shows up on the Desktop. When you get the prompt what do you choose? What burning software are you using? Does that software recognize a disc is in the drive?
