My wife was on the computer wanting to add some more tunes to iTunes, so she said she double checked that nothing was in the drive by trying twice to eject. I know there was a disc in there from my use earlier in the day. She doesn't recall checking the desktop to see if there was a disk icon. After nothing ejected, she inserted the music cd, and says that without her forcing it to, the IMac took the cd.

From my research, it sounds like occasionally cd's will not show on the desktop any longer and you have to restart while holding the mouse, etc. to get them to eject back out.

I'm wondering if such a case was going on when my wife, unknowing that something like that could be going on, inserted the second cd.

Needless to say, I've now got a stuck CD problem.

I've tried all of the other troubleshooting steps for ejecting a stuck cd, and nothing works.

Now, when the computer is on, it continually tries to eject the cd about every 15-20 seconds, and nothing comes out.

Short of taking the computer to an Apple store, do I have any other options?

Also, as the only local places I can go are in a mall, it seems like quite a pain/risk to carry the big 24" Imac through the mall. Any tips on this?

BTW, computer should still be under the initial one year warranty, although not sure what all is covered.

Thanks for any help or advice.
