CD stuck in MBP!

I took my MBP apart a few weeks ago to install a new HD. Well, the case doesn't go back together very well as I'm sure some of you know. When I tried to eject a CD today it wouldn't come out. It's physically stuck in there and I can't manage to get it out.

The case snapped together in every place except over the optical drive slot. Is there any way to get it to snap back into place so I can get my CD out? I'm not sure if somebody else has had this problem before and has a solution.

EDIT: I got it to snap back into place. However, that didn't help. The opening still bows in the middle and I can't get my CD out. Is there any hope?

Just letting you know that the Apple Store might ask you how the heck you damaged your case. And you cannot tell them that you took it apart, since that will void your warranty. As another posted commented, you should take apart the case again to stop it from bending like that. Let us know how that works out for you.

The odd thing is that there doesn't seem to be a screw at that location that he could've overtightened. The question remains, how did he do that? The only thing I could think of is he pressed down too hard when he replaced the casing which would mean he would have to use a squared piece of wood to bend it back.

As others have mentioned, take the MBP apart again, and make sure that the depression is fixed- if it is a dent, and you are not good with machining, try to control your damage and take it to an apple store to get it fixed.

I am fairly certain that the depression over the superdrive is the cause for the CD getting stuck, if the tension is released, the CD should get freed. Does the computer register the CD? Can you access its contents?

Lets hope it isnt stuck like that permanently, forcing to him to force it back straight. Good luck with that though, but definitely take it back apart asap.

I would be tempted to place a piece of plastic in the centre of the slot (something similar to a flat headed screwdriver) and then twisting....
That should raise it back up to how it was without causing too much damage (I wont be held responsible for any further damage btw, try at your own expense...)

Based on what the OP has mentioned, it seems as if the damage is caused due to improper assembly. If that is the case, he should take it apart and assemble it properly, or else he will risk causing a lot more damage.

no, the reason its bent like that is because its not snapped down all the way, its not bent its just forced down because the top keyboard try is straight, and the plastic of the cd drive is being forced down, mine did the same thing until i snapped it back all the way, but i didnt have an issue with it not ejecting the cd...it would be nice to know if the system sees the disk or not

How did I do it? I pushed down with my hand. Anyone who's taken a MBP apart will tell you how hard it is to put this part of the case back together. You have to use FORCE to take it off and then to put it back on. I'm not the strongest guy in the world, just your typical mac user.

Exactly! The upper case is still flat, but there is just a snap that needs to be snapped(?) back into place that is pushing the lower case down. There's like 4 or 5 on the front of the MBP and it's just the one on top of the CD case that you can't push down and fasten because that part of the lower case will flex down because there's no strength in the little bit of case above the cd slot on the bottom part of the case.

Now, I have managed to apply some pressure upwards and got the CD to eject. But to answer the question that some of you had, the system did not read the CD while it was stuck.

I've been able to temporarily fix it. CD's come out, but not gracefully. I'm going to have to come up with a permanent solution. I need something like a scissor jack to put in there, but I can't think of anything like that that is small enough.

I think something like this would work best. But maybe if you used to pieces of plastic, etc. to twist instead of one. That way your less likely to do much damage, less force on a small area etc. etc. Try at your own expense!
