CD will not eject from computer

My 21.1/2 inch iMac is one week old and I have been having a problem ejecting music CDs from the drive. It has happened 4 times in the last week. I am running 10.6.4. The disc does not show up on the desk top.

Not sure whether you're asking how to eject it, what's causing the problem, or how to deal with it onoing. However:

Cause - obvious culprits are dirty/warped CDs

Otherwise - if it's a new Mac and keeps doing this for no apparent reason then you should contact AppleCare.

This was an issue with my 2nd 27" with the Hitachi drive. Try going to system preferences and opening the CD/DVD applet. This should automatically mount the CD volume, then you can either play the CD, or eject it. The system cannot eject what it has not mounted.
