So everytime I make a music CD, one or two of the tracks skip. Its never the same track # or the same song. Ive wasted a bunch of CDs and im getting tired of it.

Any suggestions as to what the problem is or how i might be able to fix this?

Oh and I can burn the same CD on my iMac and it'll be perfect with no skipping. First I thought it was the cds so i bought a new pack, but it kept on happening :(

I have a unibody 2.4 MBP :)

They're cd-r 52x 700mb 80min. I've used different brands.

RE: CDs burned with MBP are skipping

I'd recommend trying Verbatim blanks.

To find the best deal on them, check "salescircular.com" each Sunday to see if anyone in your area has them on sale.

Newegg.com often sells the 100-packs with a substantial rebate direct from Verbatim (and they send the rebate quickly).

If Verbatim discs skip as well, it's probably a hardware problem.

Is it country music? Most computers don't like country.

hmm...thats what Im afraid of, it being a hardware. No Apple store for quite a ways, and wouldn't want to send it in for a long time.
Try selecting a slower burn speed instead of Max.
I'll definitely try that. The thing is I haveto burn a cd and listen to the whole thing to find the skiping, sometimes its at the beginning and sometimes its towards the end.
Regardless, isnt the optical drive rated at 16x, so shouldn't it work perfectly at 16x?
