Does sending messages via iMessage count into the cellular data usage? I noticed that even though I upload a lot of pictures and videos, they don't count into my counter.

Anyone else notice that?

They count as data. Whether this data is WiFi or 3G, it's data. If you're on 3G, it will count towards your monthly allotment.

iMessage does not count against cellular usage (uses wifi) unless for one reason or another the message is sent via SMS (green) and IIRC it is annotated in the conversation.

OK. Gotta edit after reading the other responses. :) I should have said uses wifi if connected through your home Internet (or some other connection that isn't coupled to your cellular data plan).

Okay, sorry for not making this clearer.

I know it uses 3G or Wifi, but I was asking about the "Cellular Data Usage" counter in the Setting > General > Usage menu. I noticed that even if I uploaded 10 pictures via iMessage, the counter still remained the same on Upload and Download. I was wondering if thats normal?

It should show up in the counter. I've noticed on my 3Gs and 4S the data counter gets stuck on iOS 5, even when I know I've downloaded a few hundred megabytes of data.
