Certain system sounds sound really bad

Using a relatives 2020 Air on Catalina and I noticed the screenshot, move to trash, and empty trash sounds sound very low quality compared to what I'm used to. I haven't noticed other system sounds like this. Is this something T2 chip related? Whats the deal?

Maybe settings have been accidentally changed in the MIDI control panel sampling at a lower rate with less depth?

I don't know what it was or what caused it but they sound fine now after a reboot. Must have been one of those many catalina bugs I've heard so much about. Speaking of which...
