Chaining FW drives

I don't have a ridiculous amount of experience with external FW drives, so I have to ask:

Is it possible to chain a FW400 connection with a FW800 connection? Does the Oxford 922 support that?

Proposed setup:

1. 12" PB with FW400 connects to FW400 port on external drive #1.
2. FW800 port on external drive #1 connects to FW800 port on external drive #2.

My Rosewill external only has 1 FW400 port as does my PB...

Why not get an 800-400 connector and use teh Rosewill as last in teh chain?

The FW 800 drive will run @ 400MBps since the main fw card is 400MBps

to get 800 speed: 800 to 800 via 9pin cord

I have the PB and the first external drive. I bought a USB2.0/FW400/FW800 drive to futureproof a bit with the FW800. (Mac Pro?)

I also want to buy another external drive, but I don't have another FW port (only one FW400 on the PB). The Drive does chain FW800 though, I know that.

Edit: Yes, I know it won't run at full speed. It will provide a good upgrade path, however.
