I saw lots of rumors about the next gen iPad Pros, but is there a big chance that the current gen iPad will also be replaced in the next month or so?

The latest reliable analyst says "later this year," which could mean two weeks from now or November. That's the latest info. All I know is I'm waiting for this next one because it is a major redesign.

The current model has no major flaws and 10.2" is nice. I can't pass up the chance of the same form factor as the 2019 iPad Air in the next model, but it sounds like your circumstances are different.

The current iPad just got refreshed recently, don't know why people are holding out hope that it will get refreshed again so soon, no chance that will happen.

I wouldn't mind keeping 10.5 size but with the same unlaminated 10.2 screen and additional 1GB of RAM making it total 4Gb and 64Gb as standart.
If they simply recycle iPP 10.5->Air 3 screen and design for this year's refresh, people should avoid it due to never-ending saga of the white spot.
I get it, only handful of people get this issue or notice it, but since Apple has done nothing, zero, to fix it for good, it will manifest itself over and over again in all 10.5 laminated iPads.

The site you are on has a great buyers guide. Very unlikely we see anything new this year on the regular iPad. and we can only hope we are not on the 4 year cycle like below. With this product, it is unprecedented that it goes less than a year.

This model is used in Schools and Businesses and will likely remain a low cost staple going forward, despite the rumors of SKU reduction for iPad. (Air replacing iPad Pro 11, as an example)

Agree it should stick around for a year or so for sure but there was one exception back in the days of the iPad 3 I believe. That seemed like a rushed effort to cheaply get to a retina model iPad and was replaced by the iPad 4 the same year. I think that didn’t sit well with users and Apple likely noticed that back then too.

I would say the chance of the base model getting updated before the end of this year is nearly 0.

any one has insights as to what logic Apple use with ipad? i mean we got 2 pro versions, air 4 and then ipad. but there is nothing in between air 600 USD (560 at bhp) and 330 ipad. there used to be air 3, but it's discontinued and had black screen issues. a new ipad with 7 mp selfie, 64 Gb and A13 with - let's keep it Apple style - unlaminated screen and same design for ~430 looks like okeish. but it's not there. and no rumours something is coming to fill 400-450 Usd price gap..

The basic iPad, 128GB model fills that gap...
