those are just themes.. I don't want a whole theme I just want to change the color.

Yes. The themes are how you change the color. By navigating into /Library/biteThemes using OpenSSH and WinSCP, you can edit/change the layout/color to pretty much anything using any above-basic image program (ie not Microsoft Paint).

Otherwise, if you don't want to go through the work, you can find a theme/color scheme in BigBoss or something, and apply it using winterboard.

Also could you recommend a winterboard theme that has sms color options?
